The Birley Centre - Eastbourne College

The Birley Centre 1

The Birley Centre is Eastbourne College’s state-of-the-art Music Department.

The development includes a 200-seat auditorium which is used for classical concerts, choral works, rock music, and dance. It has also been successfully used for conferences and talks.

As well as being an essential part of the College, the Birley Centre is regularly used for outside concerts and events throughout the year, and is conveniently located in Eastbourne’s ‘cultural quarter’ adjacent to the Towner Gallery.

In addition to the auditorium and associated foyer/gallery space, the Birley Centre comprises 13 music practice rooms, 3 music technology classrooms, a library, a staff common room, a commercial standard recording studio complete with voice booth, percussion room, and a ‘rock and drum’ room.
